KMUZ 88.5 FM Community Radio
KMUZ 88.5 FM is a public radio station with a blasting 32 watts of power, KMUZ 88.5 FM is the mid-valley’s voice for those not interested or represented by commercial radio.
KMUZ will serve more than 250,000 listeners in the Turner, Stayton, Salem, Albany, Independence and Monmouth areas.
KMUZ is true community radio. We are not tied to any nationally syndicated public system. KMUZ strives to engage and enlist its listeners to not only listen, but present and DJ content to our neighbors in the local broadcast area.
KMUZ is a station whose emphasis is toward the unrepresented and eclectic listener. Our music offering will be balanced with our commitment in presenting community service programing.
KMUZ is strictly non-commercial and is funded by local underwriters, grants and our incredible listeners. With this support we will work in keeping our airwaves diverse and interesting.
KMUZ will air soon. Our ground support from local people, institutions and local businesses has helped in reaching our goals, but we continue to ask for your support in this critical early developmental stage.
Our Mission Statement
KMUZ 88.5 FM is a non-commercial, all-volunteer, listener-sponsored radio broadcaster whose mission is to stimulate, educate, and entertain our audience by reflecting the diverse cultural heritage and artistic expression of our region through locally generated programs.
We aim to engage communities in the mid-Willamette Valley by sharing music, culture, news and information that celebrates our community, promotes civic responsibility, shows respect for different points of view, and gives attention to those without a voice in other media.
The anticipated broadcast area is north into Salem, south to Albany, west to Monmouth, and east to Stayton. We will also simulcast over the internet.
