Thanks to you and your commitment to community radio KMUZ-FM has been offering homegrown and handcrafted radio for six years. 2017 showed continued growth and maturation at KMUZ.
Oregon Community Fund and AFSCME Local 2067 awarded us grants to upgrade our production studio. We will soon own the license for our translator (100.7 FM) which we’ve been leasing since January 2015. (This important step is needed to increase our future capacity). Our public affairs team added new program segments that cover news from Polk County and City of Keizer. And we’re creating our first internship program with Willamette University.
With your on-going support, we will continue to grow. Please make your year-end tax-deductible contribution today. Send a check to KMUZ-FM P.O. Box 12038 Salem OR 97301.
Or donate online, where you also can become a sustaining donor.
Dave Hammock was instrumental in getting KMUZ on the air back in 2011. A native of Alaska, his community radio background was critical in bringing KMUZ to the mid-Valley. He is turning over (some of) the reigns to other volunteers, as he is retiring as General Manager of KMUZ. But, he will still be with us, just across the hall. His new focus is on special projects – the kind of “big picture” work that keeps KMUZ growing. Day to day responsibilities will be taken over by a small team of super volunteers. As a listener, you won’t even notice. Come celebrate our growth and maturation. Drop in the studio and say “thanks” to Dave on Thursday, November 30th from Noon to 5 pm.
Join the Intergalactic Ambassador, Les Wielgos, as he takes you on a journey of electronic music. Crazy Alien MTE airs Saturday nights from 11 pm to midnight. Les joined the KMUZ family after moving here from the mid-West six months ago. He is organizing our music library and now has his own show!
