Maybe You Should BE on The Radio
Have you ever wanted to be a radio DJ and play the kind of music you think should be heard on the radio?
Have you ever wanted to host a talk show?
KMUZ Community Radio is on the air and we are always looking for music programs that aren’t currently played in our area, community organizations that need to get their word out, people who want to share their knowledge about a given topic.
Or, maybe you have an even better idea for your radio show.
KMUZ DJ Program Update
Important Information for Program Applicants
KMUZ’s Broadcaster Training Class will take place in December. It’s your chance to learn about community radio and possibly become one of our on-air broadcasters after completing two daylong classes, a studio orientation and training, and a mentoring period with a current KMUZ broadcaster.
Please remember not all applicants are accepted into the class because of its limited size; you will be judged on the quality of your application. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply. Acceptance into the class does NOT guarantee you will be certified as a broadcaster or receive a KMUZ show assignment.
All areas of operations at KMUZ are volunteer-run and are directed by a Committee Chair. There is always work to go around and be shared, and you can contribute in the ways that are aligned best with your talents and interests. Various options for volunteer opportunities exist in marketing, events, fundraising, production, administration, engineering, or any other part of KMUZ operations. Talk to the Committee Chair in charge to join the team where you’d like to help.
We are excited to have you join the KMUZ family. You are encouraged to start volunteering now, even before submitting your show proposal! Write our Volunteer Coordinator to get started: [email protected]
Thanks for your interest!
