This week on Your Salem Through the Years, Jim and Virginia talk about Salem in 1860, when Salem became a chartered city, one year after Oregon statehood. Boon's Treasury building (the building to the right) was built in that year by John Boon and served as the first State Treasury as well as a store and gathering place.
