The late Native American activist Russell Means called the landing of Christopher Columbus in this hemisphere “The beginning of the end for Native People.” On October 10th, 1992, members of the American Indian Movement (AIM) and their supporters stopped the “Columbus Day Parade” in Denver, Colorado, where the holiday started. This 27-year-old interview with Russel Means was conducted during that time but never aired. Scott Schlegel conducted the interview, and with his permission, KMUZ aired and archived it.
