Michael Livingston reports on last week’s meeting of the Salem City Council and focuses on the public hearing and Council deliberations on this question: Should the City Council affirm, amend, or reverse the decision of the Hearings Officer approving the conditional use permit for a single family dwelling at 725 High Street SE to be used as a short-term AIR B&B-type rental?  The dwelling is in a neighborhood zoned RS (Single Family Residential) and is part of the Gaiety Hill/Bush’s Pasture Park National Historic District.
